Where the Idea Came From
The spark for our event ignited at the Focus Care Bake Off, a day filled with camaraderie as service users and support staff mingled and forged new connections. Inspired by the vibrant energy and budding friendships, we envisioned an even grander celebration for World Friendship Day. Our aim? To bring various services together, not just to celebrate friendship but to deepen bonds and create new ones.
The Day’s Focus
Our mission was simple yet powerful: create an environment brimming with fun activities where everyone, from service users to support staff, could join in, enjoy a delightful lunch, and have plenty of opportunities to chat and connect.
The Perfect Venue
Shoebury Road, with its expansive garden, emerged as the ideal venue. Despite some parking limitations on the road, the Team Leader at Shoebury Road leveraged their excellent rapport with neighbours to secure driveway spots for six cars, ensuring a smooth experience for all attendees.
Building on the success of our recent Friendship Day celebration, which received rave reviews and valuable insights, we’re already gearing up for our next exciting gathering. This autumn, we’re thrilled to announce that we’ll be extending our invitations to include two different areas: Eastbourne and Suffolk.
Our aim is to strengthen our bonds and expand our Focus Care family even further, fostering a sense of unity and collaboration like never before. By bringing together service users and support staff from these diverse regions, we’re not just planning an event; we’re creating an opportunity for growth, connection, and shared experiences.
