“My first placement experience at Focus Care Agency has been incredibly rewarding and has left a lasting impression on me as I begin my journey in healthcare. As this was my very first placement, I was naturally nervous at the start, but the team immediately made me feel welcomed, valued, and supported. Their professionalism, kindness, and dedication created an environment where I felt comfortable to learn, ask questions, and grow in confidence every day.
During my time there, I developed a much better understanding of person-centred care and the importance of treating individuals with dignity, respect, and compassion. I was able to observe and take part in a variety of tasks, which helped me build both my practical skills and my confidence. The staff were always willing to guide me, answer my questions, and include me as part of the team, which made a big difference to my learning experience.
A special mention goes to the team leader, who had a huge impact on my placement. I learnt so much from her through observing her leadership, communication, and the way she delivered high-quality care. She was very supportive, and she took the time to explain things clearly, which really helped me improve my understanding and confidence.
Overall, this placement has set a very high standard for all healthcare settings for me. It has strengthened my passion for this career, and I would love the opportunity to return to Focus Care Agency in my third year. I am confident that going back would allow me to continue building on what I have learnt and further develop my skills in such a positive and professional environment.”
